POEM SKETCHES FROM PROMPTS, APRIL 2017
You reach out to climb.
But instead of a ladder,
This time it's a snake.
***
Limbs covered with scales
Writhing vertebrae and tongues
A tree house for snakes
***
A chain made of paper
An encouraging word
A swamp's stinking vapour
A cat's crusty turd
Many things won't hold water
I suppose it's just fate
The promise of a liar
Doesn't hold much weight
